The story of our love affair with Taos and our captivating home...
Majestic Taos Mountain looked down upon the two of us, and smiled. We had come to New Mexico for the first time, having sought a brief respite from our busy lives in New York City. There was an extraordinary sense of expectation as we crested the Horse Shoe Turn, and we were filled with wonder at the huge expanse of sky, land and mountain that greeted our eyes and opened our hearts.
The next day, after having spent the Night at an Inn on the Ski Valley Road, we felt so inspired that we visited a Real Estate office in town. There was a photograph of a most unique home on an easel, and although the folks in the office didn't think the house would be what we were looking for, we convinced them to show it to us.
10 Sagebrush Trail. The only home we looked at, and the home we have lived in for twenty five years in Taos, presented us with a phenomenal contrast to the life that we so unexpectedly had left behind. The panoramic views from our patio, reaching as far as Colorado, are open, glorious and unprecedented. The well cared for property is expansive and charming. This home has brought us joy beyond words. We have continued to improve the house and property during our sojourn here with loving care, and have created a true masterpiece of Taos living in a tribute to this magical and enchanting place.
MAIN HOUSE - This home is a perfect place to entertain friends. Everyone who has ever entered the house has exclaimed, 'Wow', or some such thing, as they come into the living area. Some have even asked if they can move in with us.
Catherine Zeta Jones, Alan Arkin, Paul LeBlanc, R.C Gorman and other illustrious personalities, have dined at our table with us, and enjoyed with us the spectacular sun set in the West, and the clear, night sky in a planetarium like extravaganza, that must be seen to be believed.
10 Sagebrush Trail is a truly wondrous place to wake up each morning; the sweet calm and peace in this private oasis envelops the land. There are beautiful birds of many kinds, and their songs fill the air for most of the year.
